Vernissage at the art studio in Madrid en 2015
How it became a habit over the years, once a year I invite my friends at Madrid for a vernissage at my art atelier. There I present the artworks of the past year. In 2014 I painted 24 of my three-dimensional artworks with acrylic paint on canvas. It was the first time ever I painted on canvas. As result arose painted versions of my own artworks, which often themselves are interpretations of famous artworks.On February 28th it took place. The artworks I had hanged just beside in order to make possible the direct comparison of the 3D version and the painted version. The feedback of my friends was very positive. Some highlighted the colourful appearance of the painted works, and were surprised because they ever knew the artworks made with objects. Others encouraged me to stay with the 3D style, because that is really so unique.
2014
Exhibition at Buitrago de Lozoya (Madrid) in 2014
Buitrago de Lozoya at the Madrid county is the home of the Picasso Museum, where the hairdresser of Picasso, Eugenio Arias, exposes the presents he received from the gran maestro for his work. The museum with works of my artistic idol was since long time a target for a future exhibition of my art works, especially because some of my works are interpretations of famous art works of Pablo Picasso.It took considerable efforts to achieve an exhibition at Buitrago de Lozoya. Once I even brought four original artworks with me by car to present them there. By doing this it was possible to demonstrate the 3D effect of my art works, composed by objects, and, I could illustrate the relation to the museum by showing interpretations of art works of Pablo Picasso. For an exhibition at the exhibition halls of the Picasso Museum it was worth to make these efforts.
From January 11th to February 28th 2014 the exhibition took place under the title „From Picasso to Monet, from van Gogh to Gauguin – Paintings and Sculptures“. It was nearly a complete work show of all my artworks, from the early sculptures till the latest large formatted works, with which I have interpreted famous paintings, what also played a decisive role for the title of the exhibition, linked to Pablo Picasso.

After three years, I decided it was high time to offer my friends another preview of my latest artistic efforts. They were already aware of a few of the twenty famous paintings from conversations and the odd photograph, which made them all the more curious to finally see the pieces up close. This time, I used the studio walls to hang the pieces, which allowed me to display considerably more than I had been able to in the past.

After moving to a new studio in the basement of our house in Chamberí, I decided to invite my friends to the new space and show them the works produced since the exhibition in Melque. These pieces included those inspired by Diego Rivera, and the two cherry blossoms; other highlights were the converted tortilla presses I had brought back from Mexico.

Renting a studio in the Malasaña district of Madrid in July 2007 allowed me to really get my creative juices flowing and develop all of the pieces that I had already put together in my head. In the period of just three months, I was able to produce twenty new pieces, which, together with a selection of my older works, formed the basis of my first studio vernissage, where I welcomed friends to show them the fruits of the previous months´ work.
